Geology in the Port-à-Piment watershed
The geology of the Port- à-Piment watershed reveals a predominance of limestone, altered by some basaltic sedimentary. Basaltic materials are generally waterproof and have a low water infiltration rate. Usually, the alteration result material from basalts is clay. Both limestone and basaltic soils are prone to erosion.
