Slope in the Port-à-Piment watershed
The average slope in the Port-à-Piment watershed is 42%, which is well above the recommended grade for agriculture. In most cases, a slope of up to 5% is favorable for cultivation unless there are irregularities in the terrain. Slopes above 30% are already very steep and generally inaccessible, with dry and unstable soils where plants cannot grow adequately.
