LDSF Exchangeable Potassium (Exch. K) Threshold
This map shows the area below the critical threshold that may indicate potential constraints for crop production. Potassium is the second most concentrated nutrient in plants and is essential for crop productivity. Potassium deficiencies may be recognized in crops as burnt edges on lower, older leaves, sometimes confused for water shortage. Soil potassium deficiencies may be indicated by exchangeable potassium (exch. K) concentrations < 0.5cmolc kg-1. Predicted exch. K concentrations were below this threshold in 87% soils sampled indicating the need for K fertilizer.
